Roberta Migale

I am a scientist working at the Francis Crick Institute. I study how animals develop from embryo to adulthood and I am particularly interested in what makes us females or males, and what happens when this process is not functional and people develop problems such as infertility. I am passionate about sharing my research interest with people from different backgrounds and hear about the questions or curiosities they may have.

Skills and experience

  • Institution: The Francis Crick Institute
  • Current position: Visiting Scientist

I am a scientist with over 10 years of experience. My research focusses on reproductive biology and women's health. I did a PhD and studied mechanisms of preterm and term birth, to try to understand what treatments or interventions we could use to tackle this health burden. In my postdoc I studied ovarian development and have been interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms underpinning female infertility, which is often due to defects in the production of healthy eggs in the ovary).
