Hi, Reading Cafe Sci is monthly event that we host in Reading town centre. The speaker gets 30 - 40 mins for their talk (either freehand with a mic or with a few slides on a projector), then 15 min refreshment break followed by 30 mins Q&A with the audience. We get about 60 people to each event and only 10 % of them are scientists in the audience so it's general public who have a thirst for learning new things and inquisitive mind all subjects welcome. we can pay travel expenses
Every Spring, my school's value is Ambition. We are looking for role-models from different areas of STEM to come and talk with our children and/or parents about their careers and the world of STEM. Volunteers and speakers could do demonstrations for our children or work with classes during their Science teaching - anything is possible! We're looking for a broad range of people so please come forward and help to encourage our children to consider STEM as part of their future!

At Ferndown Middle School this year, we're hoping to run some special events during British Science week and are looking for as much help with that as possible. Our pupils are aged 8-13 and are keen scientists. We run a small science club but would like to be able to extend a variety of activities out to the whole school rather than a select group. Anyone that feels they could inspire our children further in any field of Science will be gratefully received.
