Gravitational Lensing

A talk by Dr Benjamin Joachimi of UCL. Bend it like Einstein – Gravitational lensing Einstein's theory of general relativity predicts that light rays are bent by a massive body, to the point that it can behave like a magnifying glass. This talk will look into a range of gravitational lensing effects and their applications, from weighing the most massive objects in the Universe to proving the existence of dark matter to finding new earths. Discover the physics that made Einstein famous!
